About Me

Hello! Thank you for looking at my artwork - let me tell you a little bit about why I paint. I live in West Cornwall, which has a diverse landscape of rugged coastlines, woods and moorland. My paintings are inspired by my local landscape and by my childhood. I spent most of my childhood in Devon where I would hide in the woods and make dens and, with my sister, would sneak out of the house in the small hours of the morning - intrepid explorers in our landscape. I am obsessed with trying to capture my surroundings and memories of place, through texture, atmosphere and mark-making. Through my paintings, I hope that you will be able to feel the wind on your cheek, the smell of the mud, moss and grass, the sound of the breeze carrying the birdsong, the rumble of thunder. More than anything else, I want to convey the peace of the wild and the energy and haven of nature. Being a painter is about connecting with you and my paintings and prints are the start of our conversation.

I have gallery representation through the Webbs Fine Art in Battersea, Lighthouse Gallery in Penzance, The Sancturary Gallery, Newnham on Severn, Glos, Hatch Gallery, Christchurch, Dorset and Tamarisk Gallery on St Mary’s, Isles of Scilly. Having studied Fine Art at Exeter, I have continued my professional development through short courses and postgraduate study. I have just completed a year long “Professional Landscape” course at Newlyn School of Art.
